HUNDREDS are expected to turn out at Lake Weeroona this weekend for a fundraiser in support of people with cystic fibrosis.
Great Strides is a six-kilometre run, or three-kilometre walk or run, to raise awareness of and funds for cystic fibrosis organisations across Australia.
Cystic Fibrosis Victoria says the funds are used to provide essential support and services.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition, with only 50 per cent of those it affects living to their late 30s.
Last year 350 walkers and runners participated in the event, and organisers expect to exceed that figure this year.
But it is not just a walk – there will also be face painting, a DJ, children’s activities, a reptile display, jumping castle and food.
Registrations can be made on the day at 8.30am.
