The 46-year-old Muckleford man was taken to hospital with minor head injuries after the crash on Muckleford-Walmer Road.
The man lost control of his car and veered off the road before rolling at least three times, police said.
A passerby stopped to help free the man from his car before ambulances arrived.
Senior Constable Wayne Cairnes said the fact the man was wearing a seat belt saved his life.
“Surprisingly, the man was in quite a good condition,” he said.
“You see crashes like that and it could have been a lot worse. The seatbelt saved this gentleman’s life.”
Senior Constable Cairnes said the wet conditions on the narrow country road had contributed to the crash.
