CAPTAIN: Craig Howard.
LAST SEASON: 7th – 4-7-2.
ARRIVALS: Taylor Beard, Sam Sperling, Zen Malik, Rhys Smith, Brenton Jones.
DEPARTURES: Liam Bowe, Lucas Hutchinson, Brendan Klein-Boonschate.
SUMMARY: Sandhurst has the makings of being one of the big improvers of the competition this season.
The Dragons have won the least amount of first XI games of any club over the past five seasons with 18, but have had a productive recruiting campaign.
Among the inclusions is the well-credentialed Zen Malik, who earlier this year represented the England under-19 team against the Sri Lanka under-19 team.
Malik, 18, is a leg-spinner and top-order batsman.
The Dragons have also added gun all-rounder Taylor Beard, who has won three of the past four league medals in the Goulburn Murray Cricket Association and will bat in the top order and open the bowling.
Off-spinner Sam Sperling, who played with Premier Cricket club South Melbourne in the thirds and fourths last season, is also joining the club, which has also regained experienced batsman Brenton Jones and left-arm opening bowler Rhys Smith.
The additions the Dragons have should cover the losses of young leg-spinning star Liam Bowe, who is playing with Essendon, as well as Lucas Hutchinson and Brendan Klein-Boonschate.
If it clicks the Dragons could be dangerous.
