A 13-YEAR-OLD Bendigo student has wowed listeners tuned into a national classic radio program with a two-minute composition he wrote on a music camp.

James Earl’s composition piece, Autumn, was played last week on ABC Classic FM after his father, Chris Earl, sent through the recording.
The piece received positive feedback, according to Classic Breakfast presenter Emma Ayres.
“Our listeners loved your music!” she wrote in an email to James.
“Congratulations on your fine work, long may it continue!”
But James and his family were unaware the piece had been aired until his piano teacher called with the news.
“It felt pretty good,” he said.
The Year 8 Girton Grammar student played piano on the recording, but says his instrument of choice is the trumpet.
Mother Narelle Earl said James showed musical talent from an early age, writing his first composition at age eight. Both Chris and Narelle, as well as daughter Emily, 10, also play instruments.
“It’s a very noisy household at times – it’s amazing,” Mrs Earl said.
“Music nurtures the soul and is one of life’s great joys.
“I love that my children are able to share their music with others.”
