Ms Boynton is set to become the regional director for the Loddon Mallee region with the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD).
She has been the commander-in-chief at Radius for the past two years and said the new role would provide her with fresh challenges.
Ms Boynton said the opportunity to work with the DPCD was too good refuse.
“I have been involved in regional development and local government and this was a good alignment of what I have done previously,” she said.
“There were no guarantees that I would get the job, but I was lucky.”
Ms Boynton will still be based in Bendigo and was looking forward to working with the community.
“I will be back working with the people in local governments so I am looking forward to re-establishing those connections,” she said.
“The job covers Mildura down to Macedon; it is a region I have worked in before and I know the landscape.”
Ms Boynton said although she was excited at the prospect of her new job, she would still miss the staff and clients at Radius.
“There are terrific staff here that have great knowledge of the industry,” she said.
“It is a good place to work.
“I will miss the staff that I have worked closely with, but most of all I will miss the clients – they are just the most delightful people.
“Where else can you walk in in the morning and get a hug?”
Ms Boynton said she was proud of her achievements at Radius and was now working to find her successor.
She will finish up on November 30.
