BENDIGO United Cricket Club has appointed former 1st XI premiership captain Chris Pinniger as its coach for season 2016/2017.

The five-time Redbacks premiership star will be backed on-field by gun all-rounder Leigh McDermott, who returns as First XI captain.
Pinniger returns to the club after a decorated career, having played 250 First XI games, and was recently inducted into the Bendigo District Cricket Association Hall of Fame.
McDermott moves back into the 1st XI captain role after a season of just playing.
He is a former captain-coach of the Redbacks.
The Second XI captain is Chris Howgate and the Third XI captain is again Craig Banfield.
The Redbacks First XI will aim to go two steps further than last year's semi-final loss to Eaglehawk
BUCC president David Bicknell said the club was again fortunate to have the Brougham Arms Hotel and Bendigo Windows as its joint major sponsors.
The Redbacks welcomes Adrian Bassett Homes as a major sponsor of its junior program.
