Miss Khuat has organised a fashion show to raise money for the organisation after meeting the centre’s chief executive Eileen Oates. She said violence was an issue in Bendigo and that it needed to be stopped before it got worse.
“Sexual violence or violence in general is not a topic you talk about so I thought what would be a good event to get young adults and teens there,” Miss Khaut said.
Bendigo retail stores, The Styling Bird, The Meadow, New Generation, Robe and Karma Kameleon will be showcasing their clothes in the fashion show. “All of the money from the ticket sales will go towards the centre; we will have raffles and silent auctions on the night,” she said.
The fashion show will be held tomorrow night at Bendigo’s La Trobe University Student Union building. Tickets can be purchased from participating stores. Tickets are $25 for students and $30 for non-students.
