After helping establish the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre in 2005, Mr Noble has taken on a newly created position with Victorian Legal Aid.

As executive director services and innovation, he will provide leadership for eight regional offices in Victoria, including Bendigo.

“This exciting opportunity... will draw on my observations of ‘postcode justice’ throughout Victoria – with a patchwork of services and disparate justice outcomes from location to location,” Mr Noble said.

During his time at the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, the services have helped more than 15,000 people. He was appointed executive officer of ARC Justice, which included the LCCLC, as well as Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre and Housing Justice.

There has also been a number of notable achievements.

The service was instrumental in achieving missing persons reform, in which families could apply to VCAT for assistance in finding a missing person.

Health justice partnerships gave patients a pathway to reach legal support through their health provider.

The ‘Will Someone Listen To Me?’ report, headed by Mr Noble, helped to give a voice to victims of family violence in central Victoria.

Just last week, Mr Noble was involved in the launch of a new legal and health service at the Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative.

Free advice for palliative care services is also still run from the Bendigo office.

Mr Noble said it had taken a committed group of people to make the services a success.

“Thanks need to go to the local lawyers who supported establishing the community legal centre and our engaging board, under Niall Hensey, who are committed to addressing the ongoing legal assistance needs of the most vulnerable,” he said.

Even with looming funding uncertainty on the horizon, Mr Noble said the services were in good hands.

The Commonwealth distribution of funding remains unclear from July 1 next year.

Mr Noble will take on the new role, based in Bendigo, from August.

“It’s a blessing to be leaving a strong organisation to join another,” he said.
