People soaked up some sun and enjoyed a few snags while tin-rattlers raised money for the Bendigo branch of the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
Money raised from the match will be put back into hospitals in the region.
Blue Ribbon Foundation Bendigo branch president Sergeant Margaret Singe said the group was working towards purchasing an ultrasound machine for the hospital. “It’s worth about $86,000 and so far we’ve raised about $60,000,” she said.
Sergeant Singe said yesterday’s cricket match was not about winners or losers, but simply about having fun and supporting a good cause.
“There was a bit of ribbing between the teams,” she said.
“It was all fun.
“We sold over $150 of memorabilia and it was great to see the kids out on the oval, too.”
