Shauna Roy, 21, pleaded guilty to a number of drugs charges in the Bendigo Magistrates Court yesterday.
The court heard Roy would regularly travel to Melbourne to buy one or two grams of ice, keeping some for personal use and selling the rest to pay for the drugs.
In January this year she sold about $2000 of the drug.
She also acted as a trafficker for her cousins, sourcing them cannabis when they wanted it. Roy’s defence lawyer Russell Kelly said his client had been taken advantage of and asked for her to be dealt with by way of a community corrections order.
“She was in the trap of being used for drugs,” he said.
“She is still immature at the age of 21.”
Magistrate Richard Wright said Roy was clearly a young offender with serious issues.
He convicted Roy and ordered that she be placed on a 12-month community corrections order and complete 150 hours of community work.
Roy was also fined $700 and her driver’s licence was cancelled for three months.
