New look library underway

Major redevelopment work started today and will be complete by early 2014.

The $9 million upgrade is designed to improve the facility, with the construction staff using heavy machinery to remove the front of the building.

City of Greater Bendigo mayor Alec Sandner said in April the upgrades were about providing “high quality and relevant library services” for the community.

Designs show a modern, colourful new facility, with library services currently operating out of the old Bendigo Advertiser building.
