The residents and volunteers at the centre were also acknowledged for their achievements and milestones.
Employee Cheryle Hague received the major honour of employee of the year for the Victoria and Tasmania region.
The respite intake co-ordinator in community has worked at the facility for 23 years.
“I’ve worked here so long I was never expecting any award like this,” she said. “I guess it’s nice to be recognised.”
Ms Hague said she loved working with the clients and residents and could see herself working there forever.
“I really enjoy it. There’s a lot of great people here,” she said.
Uniting Aged Care executive director Sharon Donovan said Ms Hague had shown a great work ethic and was consistently mentioned as one of the most committed staff members. Other employees were recognised for 10 and 20-year commitments.
Graeme Warfe received the award for employee of the year for western Victoria.
The volunteers who help out at the aged care facility were given a special mention for their work with the community.
