Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan announced the commencement of Google Transit throughout the state in Melbourne on Wednesday.
Ms Allan said timetable data would include planned service changes, as well as extra services for special events such as the upcoming AFL season.
“Google transit makes it easier to get around – you can plan your journey on public transport and compare it to walking, cycling or driving,” she said.
“It’s a great improvement to an app many of us use every day, that will make it easier to get where you need to go on our trains, trams and buses.”
