POLICE are investigating how a 16-month-old boy sustained serious injuries at a Kangaroo Flat home yesterday.
Police and paramedics were called to the house in High Street shortly before 11am.
A police spokeswoman said the 16-month-old boy had sustained serious injuries, but said police could not reveal what they were as investigations were ongoing.
“Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident,” she said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the toddler was taken to Bendigo Hospital for treatment.
The spokeswoman said the incident had been declared a “medical emergency” as opposed to an “accident” by responding paramedics.

The woman’s relationship to the 16-month-old boy was unknown.
