The recent fundraising initiative is expected to raise more than $40,000 for the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.
Participating McDonald’s restaurants donated $1 from every vehicle that ordered at drive-thrus between 6pm and 7pm on September 14 to the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
Bendigo police and Blue Ribbon Bendigo branch committee members attended McDonald’s restaurants in Strathdale, Kangaroo Flat and Bendigo to rattle tins and sell Blue Ribbon wristbands.
The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation is a community organisation that perpetuates the memory of members of Victoria Police killed in the line of duty.
The foundation, in partnership with the community, helps raise funds for worthwhile projects in local public hospitals.
Funds raised by the Bendigo branch of the Blue Ribbon Foundation will go towards facilities and equipment for the Bendigo Hospital emergency and intensive care units.
Upcoming fundraising events include a Bendigo Police vs Maiden Gully cricket match at the Maiden Gully Recreation Reserve at noon on October 14 and the Poyser Motors Gold Day on November 30 at 12.30pm at the Bendigo Golf Club.
