An eight-metre tall, 15-tonne statue of the iconic screen siren is rising in Rosalind Park’s piazza.
It is expected to take three days to fully assemble the Forever Marilyn statue, which has come to Bendigo ahead of a Bendigo Art Gallery exhibition.
American artist Seward Johnson constructed his mammoth Forever Marilyn statue in 2011.
Gallery spokesperson Sandra Bruce said this was the first time the sculpture would be seen outside the United States.
