Pugg Mahones in Bendigo’s city centre had more than 300 people fill its premises to watch the big game.
The Hibernian Hotel reported that 50 people watched the game, which bartender Shani Jolly said exceeded their expectations.
“It’s was a very big day; we had a lot more than we expected,” she said. “It was very good for the business.”
Ms Jolly said everyone was well behaved.
“There was even numbers of Swans and Hawks fans so it was a really good atmosphere.
“There was no trouble at all. It was all a lot of fun.”
Ms Jolly said it was a double win for the owner of the pub as he was a big Swans supporter.
Marie Kaldow watched the game with friends at Pugg Mahones and described the day as “huge”.
“There were a lot of people everywhere, coming and going all day,” she said.
Despite sitting with a group of Swans fans, Ms Kaldow said she was going for Hawthorn at the end.
