The Bendigo family painted the fence of their Mackenzie Street home brown and gold this week in support of their favourite team.
Keen Hawthorn supporter Brad painted the fence in 2008, when the Hawks last won the premiership.
He’s hoping the luck will strike twice today. “It worked last time so I’m hoping it will again this time,” he said.
Brad, along with sons Harvey, 7, and Lewis, 5, and dog Lethal will be cheering on the Hawks at a family function today, surrounded by the Carlton-supporting family of his wife, Tara.
But he said when it came to who his sons would follow, there was no doubt they would be little Hawks supporters. “They didn’t have much choice,” he said.
Brad said he was feeling “reasonably confident” heading into the big match.
“If they play their best than we should win,” he said.
“But you never know with finals. Anything can happen.”
