Kangaroo Flat’s Greta Guy applied for the reality television show because she was “really bored”.
“It was just an impulse thing. I saw something on the internet and thought that’d be a laugh.
“I didn’t expect to get in.”
The 22-year-old unemployed make-up artist was flown to Sydney for six weeks of filming after a selection process which included an application form and multiple interviews with producers.
Ms Guy said she did not expect to get selected into the house until the final interview.
“In my interview I knew that they loved me so I thought maybe I will hear back from them,” she said.
“They said they thought I was cute and funny. I hate being called cute though!”
Ms Guy said her experience on the show was “amazing” and she got along with the others in the house.
“I was a bit worried going into a house with nine other girls but it was really good.
“My best friend in the house is actually a geek but I got along with all of them and made life-long friends.”
She said her geek taught her a lot, including the basics of algebra.
“I’ve forgotten it all now,” she laughed.
Ms Guy has returned to Bendigo unfazed by the attention her stint on the show may bring.
“It’s going to be interesting (but) I think I’m going to love it. I think it’ll be fun.
“I probably did do embarrassing stuff but I don’t really care.”
She is now looking for a job as a beautician.
She encouraged everyone to switch on when the show premieres on Thursday.
“It’s a really fun, beautiful show. It’s going to be hilarious.”
