Groom: Anthony Harrison
Date: November 6
The meeting: We met at school in Year 7 at St Joseph's College. Anthony left for boarding school in Kilmore in Year 9 but we stayed friends for a while. We met up again once I moved to Melbourne for work at The Royal Women's Hospital as a midwife. Anthony had been living in Melbourne since school. We planned a date and it took off from there three years ago.
The proposal: Anthony took me away for a beautiful weekend in the Yarra Valley. He surprised me by proposing on the Friday afternoon not long after arriving at Balgownie Estate Resort and Spa. He proposed on the balcony of our spa room with a beautiful view of the countryside where we had champagne and our favourite nibbles. He got down on one knee and had asked both of my parents for permission. I was glad I had got my nails done for the weekend!
The wedding day: We got married at the beautiful Perricoota Station, Moama on a Friday afternoon. We choose to have the ceremony on the riverside behind the homestead due to Anthony's love for the river. Anthony had five groomsmen: his brother Mark Harrison, his best friend Steve Marchment and his playgroup mates Eddie Anderson, Antony Vagg and Rhys Wise. I had four bridesmaids, my best friend Emma Smith, my two sisters Tiffany McIntosh and Phoebey McAsey, and my sister-in-law Fiona Harrison. We also had two flower girls, my sister Ellie McAsey and family friend Hannah Torney, and three page boys, my brother Jonathan McAsey and nephews Oscar McIntosh and Louie McIntosh at just three-weeks-old.
The styling was 'rustic pretty' and we had a lot of decorations, with a lot being DIY such as the arbour, boxes, wood slices, petal cones and table runners. I had wooden signs made by Nikky Benson from 'More than Words' in Junourton. The florist was the amazing Lisa from Wallingford Flowers who made everything look so pretty. In between the ceremony and reception, our guests had drinks and canapés on the lawn and could play the lawn games. Music was by Tyler Hudson who had our guests dancing all night.
The dress: I looked everywhere for the perfect dress for me with no luck! I thought I knew what I wanted but after trying on so many dresses I changed my mind. So I went to designer Maria Gonzales in Elsternwick who worked with me to create my perfect dress. I am such a girly girl so I went with a soft pink material underneath the beautiful structured lace, with a full tulle skirt. I felt like a princess. Maria is amazing.
The cake: Tracy's Cakes Echuca made our white chocolate cupcakes beautifully decorated in pink and white flower details.
The photographer: Cindy Power who is super talented and made everyone feel so comfortable.
The honeymoon: The Maldives - seven nights in an overwater bungalow with a pool - was so amazing!
