Daniel Murphy, Belinda Arscott, Brett Welsh and Christine McKechnie, who go by the team name “Muppets on Wheels”, have raised $7500 since they began fundraising in March.
To take part in the 200-kilometre ride, each participant must raise $2500, and funds go to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Chief Muppet Mr Murphy said the fundraiser at Bendigo’s Bridge Hotel would have competitions and entertainment.
“There will be live music by local bands,” he said.
“We also have a lucky door prize and we’re drawing our major raffle for the year, an iPad, and other little things throughout the day.”
Mr Murphy expected a good crowd to attend the event and was confident the group would reach its target of $10,000.
“The last one was really popular so, with no AFL on the TV and no local footy, we’re hoping to get a really good crowd,” he said.
“We need to get the other two over the line. We are very confident we can.”
