Bridegroom: Alex Reid
Wedding date: May 28, 2015
The Meeting
We met through mutual friends back in high school and went on our first date shortly after. From then on, we were inseparable.
The Proposal
We both have a love for travel so, while on holidays in Bali, Alex proposed by the beach as we were watching the sunset.
The Wedding Preparation
Although we had originally planned to get married in Phuket with our family and friends, that all changed after a trip there in October left us both in hospital with food poisoning for four days.
We had already planned a trip to the USA when we finally returned from Phuket so we knew a Las Vegas wedding was the way to go. So we sent a few emails and the wedding was sorted!
The Wedding Day
We were lucky enough to have three amazing friends join us in Las Vegas. After brunch we were picked up in a Dodge Challenger limousine and shown the sights of Vegas. We stopped at the Gun Garage for a wedding day shoot and made our way down Freemont Street (Old Las Vegas) to get our caricatures done.
After stopping at some local bars, we headed back to our suite at the MGM for the ceremony. Our ceremony was performed by Angie Kelly from Peachy Keen Unions.
It was a beautiful short and sweet ceremony on our balcony overlooking the strip at Sunset.
After the ceremony, we headed down to the Las Vegas Strip to a burger restaurant for dinner and a ride in a gondola along the canals at the Venetian. It was a fun and no-stress day!
We will celebrate our marriage with a reception to be held later in the year with family and friends.
The Dress
I had taken two dresses with me. The dress I wore for the ceremony was a more traditional dress I bought from Bendigo Bridal Collections. The other dress was a sequin and lace Bariano dress I was lucky enough to get from a friend.
The Cake
The cake was a delicious chocolate butter cream cake with red roses on top from The Retro Bakery in Las Vegas. We also had alcohol infused cupcakes and strawberries from Evoney’s Sweet Treats.
The Photographer
We had Brandon from Gin and Sake Productions take some amazing photos of our day for us.
The Honeymoon
After Vegas, we headed to San Diego and Los Angeles. We intend to plan a honeymoon in the near future.
