Tickets are now on sale for the Bendigo for Homeless Youth gala dinner on Saturday, October 20.
The event at the Bendigo Town Hall will also act as a launch for its mini-album, with the group performing the charity single Home for the first time.
The dinner will feature a range of guest speakers including Father Bob Maguire, and live entertainment by Australia’s Got Talent finalists Cameron and Taylor Henderson.
The Myer family also will be high-profile attendees.
The charity single was the brainchild of Luke Owens, who co-wrote the track with fellow organisers Chris Morley and Dave Turpie. Mr Morley said the project had exceeded organisers’ expectations and the number of volunteers working on the project had entered the hundreds. “The response has been wonderful,” he said.
The charity single had been recorded and would be ready for its world premiere next month.
“The song is amazing,” he said. “It’s ready to be mixed and mastered.
“The message behind the song is everyone needs a home.
“Imagine if that was you and you didn’t have somewhere to sleep at night.”
Haven said it would release details of the housing project next week.
