Emma Clarke and Joanna Sim made their mark on the retail sector of Bendigo at the weekend.
They hosted the Take 2 Markets at the Bendigo Town Hall which saw hundreds of avid bargain hunters burst into Bendigo.
The pair took over the operation of the well-establish touring market in January, 2015.
Ms Sim said Ms Clarke had brought her knowledge of regional Victoria to the table.
"She has four years experience in retail and is from Echuca originally," Ms Sim said.
"She has an understanding of regional retail and knew that people tend to go shopping on a Saturday, not a Sunday."
The pair recently decided to move the market to a Saturday in Bendigo.
"We absolutely provide bargains here," Ms Sim said.
"We have market style buys, product from local boutiques, people clearing out stock from stores.
"I managed the North Melbourne markets for years but that was more craft and Australian made."
Ms Sim said the pair had grand plans for the market.
They plan to be part of Bendigo Fashion Week 2015.
We hate the wastefulness we see in fashion.
- Joanna Sim
She said pre-loved clothing needed to be more popular but sadly was a fading trend.
"For clothing items that are really well made it is good to resell them," she said.
"We hate the wastefulness we see in fashion.
"It is important we have seasonal collections instead of fast fashion."
"The market is about fashion. We try to promote designer brands. We screen everything that comes in. We don't want fashion that is going to fall apart after three washes.
"It's also about promoting sustainability. We want to keep clothes out of landfill. This is a good way to do it."
Rina Chia successfully organised and advanced the profile of the event for the last eight years.
