CCB’s run to the state finals included a 28-10 win against Notre Dame Shepparton, and a 42-16 victory against Northern Metropolitan at the north-east conference play-offs.
At Waverley, CCB played three matches in the preliminary rounds.
Game one ended in a 26-16 win against Horsham.
The second game was against La Valla Catholic College.
A well-fought game ended in a 20-15 win for CCB.
Game three was against Maribyrnong College, with scores close in the first half.
The Bendigo team took charge after the break to win 27-14.
After finishing on top of pool A, Catholic College Bendigo faced Norwood in the semi-final.
A versatile and well-disciplined CCB team won 31-13.
The grand final was between CCB and La Valla.
At the final whistle, CCB led 22-15.
Co-coach Amanda Naish said The Meg Williams-captained CCB teamed superbly in every match.
Anna Meade was solid at wing attack, Imogen Sexton strong in defence, while Keisha Tonzing was on target in attack.
The pacy Mia McConnachie and Isabella Pearse worked hard in mid-court, while Maddi Sexton played five great games at goal attack and had a short stint at goalkeeper.
Olivia Houlden’s rebounding in defence, Sancia Carlile’s play at wing defence, and goalshooter Annie Spears, were in hot form.
