The Mawby Property agent was one of 20 Victorians shortlisted, and the only regional agent in the running.
Mr Somerville said the award reflected the standard of real estate in regional Victoria.
“I feel humbled and thankful for the wonderful buyers, vendors and the Mawby Property team I have had the opportunity to work with over the past 24 months,” he said.
“Being asked to sell someone’s property in Bendigo is an honour and a privilege that I take very seriously.”
Mr Somerville said he was grateful the REIV recognised regional agents.
The award was presented by Adam Elliot, creator of Academy Award-winning short film Harvey Crumpet, on Tuesday in St Kilda, Melbourne.
The REIV scholarship recognises customer service, innovation, performance, ethics and professional goals.
As part of the award, Mr Somerville will receive funding to complete a certifiicate IV in property services and $500 towards professional development courses.
