Nathan Meade from Bendigo was 13th overall and runner-up in his age group at the Ironman 70.3 in western Sydney.
Meade achieved times of 29.54 for the 1.9km swim, 2:16.02 in the 90km cycle and 1:27.59 in the 21.1km run for an overall time of 4 hours 16.15 minutes.
Bendigo Tri clubmates did well in the gruelling event.
Matt Dee 37.54, 2.46.22, 1.57.45, for a total 5.24.14. Jarrod Bateson 42.40, 2.41.24, 2.06.50, for a total 5.34.32,
Bryce Fitzpatrick 33.26, 2.46.17, 2.14.16 for a total 5.38.43. Britt Fitzpatrick 47.15. 3.00.50, 2.24.58 for a total 6.18.38. Harry Terry 38.57, 2.57.46, 2.41.08 for a total of 6.25.37.
At Mornington, Leon Griffin from Kangaroo Flat won the 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run in a time of 4:0023.
Griffin's time splits were 24.43 in the swim, 2:12.12 cycle, 1:20.16 run.
Lauren Dehne had a great race for times of 39.58, 2:54.47 and 1:57.08 for a time of 5:36.21 to win her age group.
