The annual festival, which takes patrons on a moveable feast through some of Bendigo's best historical buildings while sampling wines and fresh produce, has put on its first Heritage After Dark event.
The event is running from 5pm to 8pm at the Bendigo Town Hall.
Bendigo Wealth Heritage Uncorked committee chair Wes Vine said the event was aimed at those who wanted to enjoy a more casual affair.
"We're hoping to attract the after work crowd on the way home," he said.
"It's part of the view of Bendigo Winegrowers' Association that we need to get a new, younger crowd in."
He said about 100 tickets had been sold with another 100 available on the door.
Mr Vine said Heritage Uncorked the Friday event was a departure from the usual two-day event on Saturday and Sunday.
"It's probably the first of this type of activity in some years," he said.
The Sunday event is not running this year, while an extra venue has been added to the Saturday event, Mr Vine said.
Mr Vine said the event was in its 18th year and always proved popular, with people returning again and again.
"Once people go to it, they want to return," he said.
Tickets to the Saturday event cost $110 and are available from the Bendigo Visitor Centre.
