It appeared there was more fire activity around on Monday.
Little grass fires. Rubbish burn offs. A warning everyone must be vigilant given the warmer weather will increase the fire risk week by week.
Now is the time to start thinking about the fire safety level of your property.
It's important to start looking at fallen trees and limbs, rubbish build up, grass areas and paddocks that might have grown a little out of control.
Remember, there's still plenty of growth to come as the warmer weather arrives but it's the bigger items that can be cleaned up and removed safely now.
If you're going to burn off, make sure the rubbish pile is a safe distance from any structure and you have water handy - just in case.
But a word of warning before moving those large items lying about the place - another summer threat is on the move.
A large black snake slithering across the Calder Highway on Saturday was a clear reminder our venomous friends are getting active with the weather warming up a bit.
It's important to be wary about items that could provide cover for snakes, particularly around possible food sources such as sheds and chook yards or under wood and tin stacks.
Be careful.
