Number one seed Daniel Byrnes couldn’t have been much more impressive in making his way through to the final.
Byrnes disposed of Paul Kramberger 6-2, 6-3 and Lucas Vuradin 6-1, 6-2 in his two matches on Wednesday.
He’ll now play second seed Aaron Leeder-Chard in the final.
Leeder-Chard was too good for Jeremy Beale 6-1, 6-2 on Wednesday morning before backing up with 7-5, 6-2 semi-final victory over fifth seed Daniel Nolan.
Women’s top seed Viktorija Rajicic will have a fitness edge over young gun Zoe Hives in the women’s final.
Rajicic advanced to the final on the back of a 6-0, 5-0 win over third seed Katherine Westbury, who had to retire because of injury.
Fifth seed Hives was forced to work much harder for her place in the final.
Hives was pushed to three sets by ninth seed Danielle McIntyre in the quarter-finals. Hives eventually prevailed 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
Hives produced her best tennis of the tournament in the semi-final, defeating second seed Masa Javanovic 6-3, 6-4.
The finals start at 9.30am on Thursday at the Bendigo Tennis Complex in Nolan Street.
