The event, run by the City of Greater Bendigo’s Mic Up Productions event team and headspace, will be held tonight at St Andrews Hall in Myers Street, Bendigo, from 6pm.
The annual event supports the region's coming music acts.
Entrants include Daywaster, Path of Destruction, Paper Boat Armada, Olivia Reilly, Deer Prudence, Adjacent and Stacy Varner.
The council's youth participation officer Rory White said the annual competition was always a popular event on the local music scene.
“There are plenty of young people in Bendigo who have great musical ability and this is an opportunity for them to show their peers and the community what they’re capable of,” Mr White said.
Entrants will be judged by Sons of Blues band member Patrick Byrne, local musician Liam Thorpe, local singing teacher Indi McGonigal and previous competition winner Cass Ward.
The competition is an all ages event; gold coin donation for entry.
It is a drug, alcohol and smoke-free event.
