SUPPORT from biker communities throughout regional Victoria added plenty of colour to Saturday's Zayden Veal-Whitting playground fundraiser.

Groups from as far afield as Melbourne, Horsham, Shepparton and Ballarat converged on the Newbridge Hotel to help raise funds for a playground in Zayden's memory.

A large portion of the town itself also turned out as local publican Terry Lofkin donated the hotel to the cause for the afternoon.

Mr Lofkin said when the Whitting family came into his hotel three weeks ago for a meal, he decided to help out.

"They mentioned Zayden and what had happened, and I told them we'll do anything we can to help," he said.

"Here we are, trying to raise every cent."

The roar of motorbikes echoed through the town at various times in the afternoon as group after group lined up on the footpath.

Snapper, president of the Bikers Charity Support Group Victoria, said the groups were happy to support Angie Whitting in her quest to establish the playground for Zayden.

"Anything to do with supporting children is what we're all about," he said.

"When James and Angie came to us and suggested having a ride for the charity, we were more than happy to help."

Baby Zayden was murdered by Harley Hicks in June, 2012.

Zayden's family wants the community to have a happy space that helps take away the sadness since his death.

The memorial playground, to be called Where Angels Play, will be a happy space allowing the community to remember a happy little boy.

The Motorcyclists Advocating Child Empowerment were among those to make the trek to Newbridge for the afternoon.

President of the East Melbourne chapter, Bowser, said they wanted to raise awareness of children who are struggling in life as a result of child abuse.

"We want to give the power back to the victim and them feel big about themselves again," he said.

"We offer support with judgement.

"The Zayden story is something that we wanted to be involved in and we got a group together to make the trip here today."

The event runs until 11pm and includes seven bands, face-painting, laser tag, Harley Davidson rides, a sausage sizzle and spit roast.

A major auction will include a miniature Harley Davidson with 49cc engine and a hand-built railway set.
