Mr Mayfield, who was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome in 2006, is a certified practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, an experienced presenter and co-author of The Hidden Curriculum of Getting and Keeping a Job: Navigating the Social Landscape of Employment.
He is also the founder and managing director of Autism STAR Pty Ltd.
The workshop will cover topics such as sensory sensitivities, meltdown behaviour, literal interpretation, theory of the mind and autistic thinking categories.
Mr Mayfield will present Understanding Autism at Kalianna School in Prouses Road from 1pm.
Registrations open from 12.30pm.
Tickets cost $25 for parents, carers and individuals on the spectrum, $65 for support workers and $110 for professionals and schools.
