Growing up her parents owned and ran a corner store, making her no stranger to human interaction.
So much so, Mrs Rawlings has always been an active member of the community.
A member of the Golden City Collectors Association, Ms Rawlings is also secretary of the Quarry Hill Community Hall committee of management.
"If no one volunteered then organisations would fold," she said.
"It is as much about the social side of my (volunteer work) than the actual work.
"With out Golden City Collectors Association meetings we rotate between people's places - it's a lot of fun."
Ms Rawlings will showcase her collection of wild west memorabilia at the upcoming annual collectors show on August 23 and 24.
She said she had been with the association for about 25 years.
"It's not a chore," she said.
"It is a pleasure to be part of it."
The annual show is taking place at the Bendigo Major League Sports Multisports in Golden Square.
