The Dodgers have been hitting home runs in the Bendigo Baseball Association for half a century and are set to celebrate with current and past players at a gala dinner on Saturday night.
Club secretary Luke Barkmeyer said it would be a big day for the club.
“It is a great achievement,” he said.
“About 120 people are expected to come along to the celebrations at the All Seasons.”
The club, which formed in 1964, has won five premiership titles in the past 50 years.
Barkmeyer said the Strathfieldsaye Dodgers began when the St Paul’s Baseball Club disbanded.
“Jim Murphy, Brian Guest, Bob Welsh and Norman Worcester came together to form the Dodgers,” he said.
“They created a C-grade team and then as the club grew teams were formed in the A and B-grade competitions.”
Barkmeyer said some of the best players to come out of the club were Tim Dellwo, Stuart Ritchie and Josh Davies who all played baseball in America.
He said one of the club's major focuses was developing its juniors.
He said if anyone wanted to be involved with the Dodgers celebrations contact him on 0405 375 160.
