Victoria Legal Aid has expanded services to protect the legal rights of people who have been diagnosed with a mental illness will be launched in Bendigo.
The new services will help people who are subject to compulsory treatment, who now have extended access to legal services in growth areas and rural and regional Victoria.
The launch will mark the completion of a 12-month rollout across Victoria, which now sees services offered in areas of growing need such as Dandenong, Geelong and Bendigo.
The launch will be at the La Trobe Rural Health Clinical School and will include an address by Mental Health Minister Mary Wooldridge.
A person with personal experience of mental illness will also speak at the event.
Meanwhile, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Peter Walsh will be in Bridgewater on Wednesday to make two significant announcements.
Mr Walsh will visit the Bridgewater Public Caravan Park.
