Castlemaine-born Bottomley is in Ronan Keating's team of 12 girls, who must each sing a song.
Keating will then decided which six girls will stay in the competition and which six will be sent home, based on their performances.
Before Bottomley's performance, viewers were shown a clip of her in a mentoring session with Keating, during which he expressed concerns about her nerves.
"I think nerves are slightly getting the better of you here," he said.
Bottomley admitted she had been doubting her abilities.
"It's a massive song, especially the chorus," Bottomley said.
"I'm doubting myself, I'm getting in my head and I'm freaking myself out."
Keating said Bottomley was one of the few singers capable of singing the powerful song, but she shouldn't doubt herself.
No traces of doubt were seen during Bottomley's confident performance, with the judges praising her efforts.
Fans took to social media to express their delight with Bottomley's singing.
Bottomley said afterwards she was pleased with how the night unfolded.
"If I go home, I go home, but I don't think I could have done any better," she said.
