A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police were called to the scene at 10.10pm, following reports of people causing trouble.
She said members attempted to speak to the man, who responded in an aggressive manner.
Police attempted to restrain the man but he resisted, she said.
Police then used OC foam on the man - similar to capsicum spray - but he continued to resist arrest.
She said members turned on a conducted energy device, also known as a taser, but the man complied before police had to use it.
She said the man was taken to Bendigo Police Station last night and would be interviewed at a later date.
