SATURDAY: Police are searching for the driver of a car who tried to avoid a breath testing site and led officers on a high speed chase in Kangaroo Flat this afternoon.
The black Mitsubishi sedan allegedly reached speeds of up to 110km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Bendigo police Sergeant Jason Bourke said the car did a U-turn to avoid a random breath testing site on Ham Street about 2.55pm and was followed by a police traffic management unit.
He said the car turned left into Macdougall Road and then into Hattam Street where police activated their lights and began pursuit.
Sergeant Bourke said the officers pursued the sedan for less than a minute before terminating the chase.
The car was last seen travelling north on Hattam Street.
