Both designers, Kristy Kum Too and Simone Boschetti agreed to share a stall at tomorrow's Sunday market after being approached last month by the monthly art market's organiser Shona O'Brien.
Unbeknownst to Ms O'Brien, the pair had previously met.
"Simone and I started talking and realised we knew each other, we had both been to a wedding together for a mutual friend," Ms Kum Too said.
Ms Kum Too, who makes crochet baskets and floor rugs as well as kids' block sets which she paints in bright colours, said the pair had been chatting ever since and realised they had a lot in common.
"We both come from similar backgrounds – professional but with creative sides," she said.
The pair decided to combine their creative talents - Ms Kum Too's crocheting skills and Ms Boschetti's handmade pottery skills - to make three unique pot-plant holders for the stall.
"We wanted to try something different that we hadn’t seen before," she said.
"We’ve seen lots of hanging pot-plant holders, but this is a bit different."
Ms Boschetti said the experience had been "really fun".
"Our products complemented each other so we decided to do something together," she said.
The pair said it was early days yet but hoped the shared stall and pots could lead to future collaborations.
Tomorrow's Trove Makers' Market will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Good Loaf Bakery.
