Students and staff will plant trees and shrubs along the edge of the Bendigo Creek with the help of the Northern Bendigo Landcare Group.
The trees have been donated by the Department of Environment and Primary Industries.
Education support and sustainability teacher Felicity Nicholls said the school had a strong partnership with the Northern Bendigo Landcare Group.
She said students also participated in weekly sustainability lessons as part of the school curriculum.
"We aim to teach them about the stewardship if their local environment and its importance," she said.
"As a community we enjoy looking after the creek, which runs right through Bendigo and is very important.
"We also teach them about the importance of aboriginal culture."
The event will take place on Wednesday next week, with the school planning on planting trees and shrubs from 9.30am to 11am at Millwood Road in Huntly.
