Parkin is a member of the AFL Hall of Fame is the president of the AFL Coaches Association.
Parkin, a Deakin University lecturer, shared a talk with the schools specialist sports program students.
He gave a speech on motivation, setting personal goals, hard work and what type of behavior was needed for people to become successful athletes.
Parkin, a current footy commentator, also talked to students about how to manage success and disappointment in sport.
He also spoke to aspiring sport stars about the importance of studying for life after sport.
Earlier this year Bendigo Spirit star Kristi Harrower spoke with the students and key figures at the Richmond Football Club also held talks with the youngsters.
