The Thunder took on St Albans at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
St Albans won 17.11(113) to Bendigo 1.1(7).
Thunder coach Russell Jeffrey's said his team played a more competitive game, compared to last week.
"We restricted them to just 11 goals in the first half which was pleasing," he said.
"Last week against Darebin we couldn't hold on in the second half whereas this week we persisted in the third and fourth quarters."
In the last quarter Bendigo kept St Albans to just two goals one behind while Jess Kile booted the Thunder's only goal.
"They kicked their second goal late in the last quarter, we were on track to winning our first quarter of footy for the year which was exciting," Jeffrey said.
"We will continue to build over our last four games."
