The event was designed to draw attention to the many skills and generosity of local CFA volunteers.
Brigades from the Loddon region participated in a joint designated fuel reduction training day at the East Loddon Lions Club where students from the Advance program had cleaned up debris from around the clubrooms and picnic area.
Lions Club member Jo Guthrie said she was overwhelmed by the amount of work the student crews were able to complete in a short time frame.
"This would have taken us months," she said.
Students also challenged the volunteers to a range of novelty fire brigade activities, adding a big dose of fun to the day.
Activities included hose skipping, hose roll and a competition to deliver water at a target.
