Impromptu station art passed to public

A BENDIGO exhibition which involved an artist calling on train passengers to sketch their minds' wanderings has come to an end.

More than 500 A5 drawings have been on display at Bendigo Railway Station - as part of Artist in Transit - which opened on June 23.

The works were given away to the general public on Friday last week.

"I think that is a really important part of the project," artist Julie Andrews said.

"It's about sharing and connecting without judgement."

She said while some of the sketches were drawn by artists, there was a huge variety of artworks on display.

"I had people telling me they had never drawn anything since they were in primary school," she said.
