The clash between Stuart Bingham and Mark Davis went the distance.
Davis won the last two frames to clinch a 5-4 victory.
The 2011 Goldfields Open final was won by Bingham.
Top seed at this tournament and last year's runner-up, Australia's Neil Robertson has won through to the semi-finals.
