Local Government Minister Tim Bull said the money would help library staff deliver more opportunities by making the best use of the space available.
Goldfields Library Corporation chief executive Chris Kelly said the funding would allow the installation of split system air-conditioners and reverse cycle fans as well as new blinds and windows for efficient air ventilation, providing visitors with year-round comfort.
“The carpet will be replaced and more moveable shelving purchased to provide a more engaging and flexible space for programs and activities for visitors of all ages," Ms Kelly said.
“The courtyard linking the library to the community centre next door will also be revitalised providing a comfortable outdoor reading area for outdoor activities with free wi-fi access."
Macedon Ranges Shire Council will contribute $24,000 towards the $92,000 project.
