Indecent assault trial begins

Jon Edgar Hewitt, 64, appeared at Bendigo County Court on Wednesday to face three charges of indecent assault.
The assaults are alleged to have occurred in January and February 2012 while the woman was a resident at a northern Victoria aged care facility.
The six-man and six-woman jury was empanelled on Wednesday afternoon after Hewitt formally entered not guilty pleas to all three counts.
The trial, before Judge Jane Patrick, will begin on Thursday with prosecution and defence openings.
It is expected to continue for up to a week.
