MARK Davis advanced to round two following Tuesday's win against Dominic Dale at the $500,000 Australian Snooker Goldfields Open in Bendigo.

After a 73-6 loss in the opening frame, Davis struck back to gain a 4-1 lead in the best-of-nine frame match at Bendigo Stadium on Marong Road.
Frame four included a tournament-high break of 139 by Davis to win 139-0.
He won the next 54-13, before Dale struck back with a century break of his own in the sixth, which he won 109-20.
Dale's run rolled in the next, 69-9.
The eighth frame ended in an 88-24 victory for Davis.
In this afternoon's play, Matthew Stevens has raced to a 2-0 lead against Ireland's Fergal O'Brien.
Liam Highfield won the opening frame against Xiao Guodong.
