The RASV, who runs the show sheep competition each year, will be in Bendigo for the Australian Sheep & Wool Show from July 18 to 20.
It is encouraging breeders to visit the RASV stand to find out more information about the competition, to be held over three days during the 2014 Royal Melbourne Show in September.
The competition provides stud sheep breeders with an opportunity to promote their industry, benchmark their studs and socialise with fellow producers.
RASV chief executive Mark O’Sullivan said the Royal Melbourne Show Sheep Competition recognised and celebrated Victorian stud sheep breeders’ contribution to the agricultural industry.
“The Royal Melbourne Show Sheep Competition has been a long-standing part of the Royal Melbourne Show and we’re pleased to give breeders an opportunity to benchmark their studs and gain valuable feedback from expert judges," he said.
Last year's winning Supreme Champion Border Leicester exhibitor Jamie Buerckner said it was an honour.
"With strong competition and top quality judges, I encourage both experienced and new breeders to enter,” he said.
Entries to the competition close August 8.
